The country’s leading movement theatre company Frantic Assembly, explodes onto the stage with this electrifying take on Shakespeare’s most brutal and gripping thriller-tragedy of paranoia, jealousy, sex and murder.

 

A black man in a white northern town, Othello is a bouncer down the local pub. But his passionate affair with Desdemona exposes them both to fatal manipulation at the hands of Iago with devastating consequences. Fusing a taut adaptation of the classic text with its trademark hard-hitting choreography, Frantic Assembly takes its scalpel to 21st century Britain, exposing prejudice, danger and fear. Here, violence is a way of life and reputation is everything….
