This was based on a text by writer Gary Owen and concerned three friends falling down a cliff on New Year's Eve and finding themselves in some kind of Heavenly waiting room. So far, so funny!
We set out to make an unashamed comedy and had quite a miserable time
doing so! As co-directors, co-writers and co-performers, Liam Steel,
Steven and myself almost drowned under the weight of it.
We laugh now about sitting up in a double bed and scribbling lines of dialogue and passing them back and forward for approval.
Ashen and miserable looking faces asking, ‘Is this funny?' ‘Yes that is funny' but forgetting how to laugh ourselves! For three people who spend a lot of time laughing together this was frightening. Had we made a total turkey?
Once we opened the show, it was a different story! It worked and, much to our confusion, audiences laughed and cried in all the right places. We had just lost perspective, that is all!
Good fun, cheap gags and gratuitous nudity. Enjoy.
